Countryside Veterinary Clinic (CVC) is seeking qualified candidates to join our family of mixed animal veterinary clinics in Upstate New York. The ideal small animal candidate will want to work in an environment that offers a blend of commitment to providing quality medicine and surgery services to all companion animal patients and their owners while meeting the needs of a rural population in our multi-clinic practice. Large animal candidates should have strong interest and skill level in production dairy medicine and willingness to work with equine and small ruminant patients.

SUPPORTED Shared On-Call to best balance patient needs in a rural community and quality of life for our professional staff.  Our practice stands out in the community because we are willing to serve our clients and patients even when medical needs arise outside of regular business hours. We utilize MyPetDoc Partner (Telehealth Triage Roll-over & After-Hours Service) to lessen call volume and support our doctors and licensed technicians.

Mentorship and Support - Mentorship from experienced doctors, with daily dialogue on cases and monthly meetings as a group to discuss cases and share CE. Our doctors and staff offer constant help and support as needed, including flexible exam room appointment time slots to allow more time if needed until proficient and comfortable. Ambulatory clinicians will provide sufficient training to new associates before being sent on calls solo and will provide ongoing support as needed. 

Externships are also available for current enrolled students. A veterinarian externship offers a holistic learning experience that combines practical skills development, networking opportunities, and exposure to various aspects of veterinary medicine, contributing significantly to a student's overall education and readiness for a career in veterinary practice.

Caseload Variety and Experience – Our commitment to meeting the needs of all our clients leads to a natural variety of cases. Supported by existing staff, there is no better place to come and gain the overall experience you desire, including medical and surgical workups, in addition to wellness exams, and emergency/urgent care skills. Regular schedule of routine surgery; more advanced surgery will be scheduled as associate desires; experienced clinician will be on site available to assist as needed (no solo surgery until associate and mentor feel comfortable with skills). All four hospitals are equipped with in-house CBC and Chemistry/T4/Cortisol/Progesterone and Urinalysis capabilities (Idexx ). Our full-service clinics are equipped with digital radiograph equipment and two locations have Companion Therapeutic Laser. The Lowville clinic is equipped with Oncura Ultrasound system, which is not only state of the art equipment, but also direct real-time support from licensed ultra-sonographers to obtain diagnostic ultrasound scans (through webcam) and access to team of board-certified radiologists to assist with interpretation. We are also equipped with surgical monitoring equipment and intravenous fluid pumps. Referral centers are within a reasonable commute. Large Animal trucks are equipped with necessary equipment and inventory including rectal ultrasound for herd health services.

Through local organizations like the Lewis County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Academy, Lewis County Emerging Professionals young professionals are encouraged to get involved and make a difference in the local area where they live and work. Full Time and Part Time at all of our 4 locations. Currently Licensed or Upcoming Graduates from a Vet Tech Program waiting to take their VTN Exam.

CVC is always looking for outstanding individuals to join our team of Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT). We are accepting applications for a full time 40 hour a week position to work in our Lowville and Carthage locations.  We pay between $20-$24 dollars an hour depending on experience.

 

Our LVT’s must:

  • Go above and beyond the expectations of good client service during every interaction.
  • Be friendly, upbeat, professional and courteous.
  • Excel working in chaos and take the stresses of the day in stride.
  • Be excellent at multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have a passion for helping people and their pets.
  • Be able to work between the hours of 7am-6pm Monday through Friday as well as weekends and holidays on a rotation basis. Shifts will vary.

A full time LVT, after completing the 90-day orientation period, will receive the following benefits:
